The Kaua’i Forest Bird Recovery Project is partnering with Birds, Not Mosquitoes, and Kamehameha Schools to honor our beautiful and endangered manu through art.
We will be hosting an art show at the Kaua’i Society of Artists gallery at Kukui Grove Center from 11/1 -11/8/2024.
Artists of all ages and experiences are encouraged to create and submit art inspired by native Hawaiian manu and their forest habitat based on the entry guidelines.
For inspiration, check out our website hub with filled with information about forest birds, events, curriculum, activities and resources.
Special call for forest bird origami submissions: we invite origami lovers statewide to create origami of our forest birds, the finished birds will then be displayed at the end of the year at the bird art exhibit at the KSA gallery on Kaua'i and then again at a location tbd on O’ahu to mark the conclusion of Makahiki o nā manu nahele - the Year of the Forest Birds 2024
